Most Important:

Blur Communications is a full service communications and strategic planning boutique. Over the last 14 years we have leveraged our intellectual curiosity to be as smart about your business as possible. We turn those insights into creative solutions, which locates your product at the nexus of consumer desire, and culture. This positioning shifts consumer engagement from an isolated experience to a movement. At Blur we value transactions but also understand the benefit of a genuine bond with the customer. This is why we only develop campaigns that have “intrinsic human benefit.” In other words, if it adds value to people’s lives, we love to market it and make it matter.
In the spring of 2001, Joseph Tolton founded Blur Communications, a 100 % African-American owned, independent, full-service branding, marketing, and strategic planning firm. Whether it is logo design, print, social media, broadcast or digital production, we offer personal service with on-time delivery. Our infrastructure includes partnerships with the Hispanic-American agency Interlex USA; NYM World group, an agency that specializes in media buying; and, Mirror NYC, which provides expertly produced print materials.
In 2012, Blur expanded its operation to include strategic consulting and production in East Africa with a base in Kigali, Rwanda. The agency has focused on serving clients in the human rights arena such as: Isange Rwanda, Sexual Minorities Uganda, and the United Methodist Church Nairobi district.
